Our firm’s leaders are two of the region’s most respected legal figures. Susan M. O’Malley is a North Carolina Bar Board Certified Disability Specialist in Social Security Disability law. In fact, she was an original board member on the state’s specialization committee. Active in the Disability Advocacy Section of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, she is also a member of the American Association for Justice where she was past Chair of AAJ’s Disability Section. Few lawyers have spent as much time helping the disabled throughout their careers as Susan.
Joseph P. Tunstall is a trial lawyer through and through, having been successful in numerous personal injury, auto accident, Social Security, and workers’ comp cases, many of them before a jury. He has handled cases at both the federal and state levels, including the Supreme Court of North Carolina. Joe has tried close to 100 jury trials to verdict always representing the injured and never corporations or insurance companies in Eastern North Carolina. If you ask other lawyers who handle personal injury they know Joe tries his clients’ cases to juries. He is on the Board of Governors for the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and was past chair of the Auto Torts section helping North Carolinians injured as a result of automobile crashes.

Terri Baker, Paralegal I am from Tarboro, but I have lived in Macclesfield for 32 years. I have two wonderful and successful children, Jordan and Logan. I have one grandchild, Gavin. I like to work with Social Security clients because I can and do make a difference in their lives. Outside of work, I like to attend estate auctions and incorporate my finds into my home or give them away to people who are starting a home or in need of items due to financial hardships.
Lindsay (Lewis) Buck, Paralegal I grew up on the outskirts of Rocky Mount before moving to Greenville in 2012. I was undecided when I first attended college and earned my Criminal Justice degree. Afterward, I went back to school to earn my degree in Paralegal Technology. Before I became a paralegal, I had worked for a day care center as a teacher for eight years. Now, I currently assist our Social Security clients on their applications, appeals and the process of disability and Social Security income. I recently married, and together we have two cats, two salt water aquariums and two reptiles. Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family, friends and my animals.
Susan G. Brown, Paralegal I was born and raised in Edgecombe County. I have been with the law firm for 30 years, becoming a certified paralegal in 2005. I love what I do and enjoy helping others. I am married with two children and two dogs. Outside of work, I enjoy walking and spending time with my family and friends.
April Ellis, Paralegal I am from Virginia and moved to Tarboro after meeting my husband in 2014. We have made Tarboro our home, where we are now raising our family. We have two precious children and a sweet dog. Outside of work, our schedule stays busy as we love to travel and spend time with friends and family.
Susan Zimmerman, Paralegal I’m from Texas. I’ve been a paralegal for over 20 years and have worked in Texas, Washington state and North Carolina. Before working in law, I worked in Credit and Collections for 10 years. I enjoy helping people through the difficult process of a personal injury case and derive satisfaction from knowing the quality of work we perform makes a critical impact in people’s lives. I am married with four children, five grandchildren and two dogs. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to live music, gardening and working out.
Brad L. Perkins, Head Investigator I grew up in Tarboro, North Carolina. I came to work at O’Malley Tunstall because I truly enjoy helping people and making a difference in their lives. Before working here, I actually managed an auto repair and electrical shop as I have always been a car enthusiast. My son is my world! Outside of work and time with him, I enjoy the art of DJing and absolutely love music!
